By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief Donald Cerrone took five months between fights after his UFC 141 loss to Nate Diaz, and come Tuesday's UFC on Fuel 3 event it appeared to be time well spent. Cerrone was the far superior fighter to Jeremy Stephens on Tuesday night, out-classing him on the feet and making a very solid vet in Stephens look downright inept at times. Getting that win taken care of puts Cerrone back on track to make a run up the UFC's lightweight division, as he's now 5-1 in six Octagon appearances. But he's not looking to sit out long after this win, as he said after the event he'd like to fight at UFC 150 in Denver, Colo., this August. "I want to fight in Denver," Cerrone said after the event (transcribed by Sergio Non of USA Today via MMAJunkie.com). "Whoever's begging at the bit to go is who I want to fight." Cerrone said he's "100%" ready for a top five opponent in the UFC's lightweight division, and when Anthony Pettis' name was brought up, he completely agreed with that fight's merits. "That'd be a good match-up," Cerrone said. "Stylistically it'll work out perfect for me. He'll stand and want to fight and try and take me down. I'll beat him up, and then we'll keep fighting. That'd be good fight, especially for Denver." Penick's Analysis: August 11 may be too early for Pettis to return to action after shoulder surgery, but the fight itself is one I like a lot. If Cerrone is hell bent on fighting in Denver, Pettis isn't likely to be his opponent, nor will he likely get a "top five" name. If he can hold out one extra month, Pettis should be able to go in September as was rumored for a potential fight with Nate Diaz. Otherwise, they'll both likely be matched up against decidedly less interesting options in the division. With Saturday's fight coming up first, the UFC approached the top four fighters on next weekend's card to get their takes and predictions on the fight. UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos: "They are both great fighters and this is a fight that could end very quickly for each guy. But Cormier is more explosive and has the better chances to end this early. It could be very exciting, but I think Cormier wins." Frank Mir: "I think Cormier takes this. I can't see Barnett getting him to the ground, his wrestling is too strong. And on the feet I think Cormier has the power to end things. But with two top heavyweights, anything can happen. Thatâs why this division is so exciting - anyone who is world class can beat anyone else with one punch. You can't say that about the lighter weight classes and that's why heavyweight fights are so cool to watch." Cain Velasquez: "I pick Daniel Cormier. Number one, because I train with him but also because he's so hungry in this sport, I don't think he will be denied. He was really raw when he came into our gym the first time a couple of years ago but he picked up everything a lot faster than most. He has dangerous strikes and I can't see Josh getting him to the ground. Daniel's wrestling is too good; I think he takes this fight and makes a statement about his future in the division." Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva: "I think Cormier will win this fight and be the Grand Prix Champion. I was very surprised by him in our fight. I think he is too strong, too powerful in this fight. He punches very hard and his wrestling is very good. I think he will win inside the distance unless Josh Barnett gets this to the ground quickly." If you have a Nokia N900 phone, or a fairly-modern Android 2.0-or-later device, go ahead and install it from the Market, by using scanning the QR code after the break, or by visiting Firefox.com/m. Accompanying the release is the launch of Spark, a cute social game that's designed to fuel the adoption of Firefox 4 Mobile, much like last week's use of Glow and Twitter Party during Firefox 4 PC's release. While the browser still feels a little rough around the edges, it's definitely worth trying out if you're still using Android's stock browser. Its JavaScript performance is significantly better than any other Android browser, and if you use Firefox on your PC, its built-in Sync functionality is awesome. Over the next few days we'll have plenty of tips and tricks for Firefox 4 Mobile, and a list of the best add-ons available for the new browser. With this new feature, dubbed 'InstantApp', you can now design a single app in your browser and publish it natively on Android and iOS, and as an HTML5 iPhone app. We haven't looked at iSites before, but it shot to fame last year when it launched with native iOS and Android support. Self-publishing Android apps wasn't a problem because Google does very little moderation of the Market, but iSites ran into trouble with its iOS apps. Thousands of people signed up for the service after it was featured on Mashable and TechCrunch, and you can imagine Apple's chagrin as thousands of cookie cutter apps flooded its approval queue. Genwi, the developer behind iSites, realized something had to be done -- it had to circumvent the App Store approval process. Genwi, of course, turned to HTML5 Web apps -- which can be pinned to the iPhone home screen and which can be shoehorned into almost behaving like native apps. Read on for our experiences with iSites' new InstantApp HTML5 iOS app creator. Reader Rants covered Alistair Overeem's suspension, Anheuser-Busch's strong words towards the UFC, the Chael Sonnen/Anderson Silva move to Las Vegas, and how Dan Henderson will fare against Jon Jones. Do you want to see your thoughts in Reader Rants? Like Cagewriter on Facebook and comment on the stories that show up in your newsfeed. Not many of you bought Alistair Overeem's explanation for his elevated testosterone levels. I want to believe Overeem, but where there is smoke, there is fire. The tests prior to the Lesnar fight had weird circumstances and now this? For a guy who proclaims innocence and knows the PED spotlight is squarely on his back, he should be the first to check the ingredients of anything he puts in his body. -- Ryan Wahl I don't know science well enough, but he keeps on making excuses and doesn't really convince anyone that he's clean. Sure, he says everything with a straight face, but like Ryan said, where there's smoke, there's fire! -- Brandon Mendoza Anheuser-Busch shared their displeasure with the UFC over the behavior of some fighters. One reader thought they should take a look inward. I think it would be unfair if they let a few bad apples spoil the bunch. We're in such a sensitive age with the internet and social media, but UFC fighters aren't running around disparaging women, minorities or disabled people, they are making errant jokes like Anheuser-Busch does all the time. It's really too bad if a beer company with controversial commercials of it's own can't learn to turn the other cheek and just ask the UFC to introduce fines and consistency into it's policies about social media instead of threatening to pull their sponsorship. Talk about calling the kettle black. -- Joshua Smith Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva's rematch was moved to Las Vegas, and Silva isn't the only one disappointed in the move. I'm disappointed, everyone has wanted to see how the fight is gonna go down on Anderson's home turf and this just helps Chael. It's still a good fight and if the card lives up to the hype it'll probably go down as the card of the year. -- Gabriel Martinez Brazil fans are going to be disappointed in the UFC. This would've been the match they wanted out of any, and its been taken away from them. -- Manny Seda Cagereaders had many answers for the question, how will Dan Henderson do against Jon Jones? Hendo has NO advantages to use against Jones apart from experience. Height, reach, youth, strength, stamina, and the match all go to Jones. -- Donald Windley Hendo will have to end it early, and he can do it! If Jones somehow manages to survive the 1st round (run instead of engage) and make it past half way into the second I think that the younger guy's ground game will be the difference. Too bad that, I say! Every MMA fan loves to see a knock out! Hendo deserves to go out a champ and Jones doesn't have the 'cred'. -- Kevin Astle Source: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mma-cagewriter/alistair-overeem-chael-sonnen-vs-anderson-silva-move-201804828.html RACKABLE SYSTEMS QUEST SOFTWARE QUANTUM QLOGIC PROGRESS SOFTWARE If you used Windows XP for a long time (who didn't?), one of the biggest changes when moving to Windows 7 or Vista was the massively-altered Explorer. While the new Explorer introduces some useful new features, it also removed just as many -- which is where Classic Shell comes in! We've covered Classic Shell before, but here's the crib note: Classic Shell restores almost every Windows XP-era Explorer feature. The best change, in our opinion, is the reemergence of the 'up' arrow, meaning you now navigate without using the Windows Vista/7 'breadcrumbs' address bar. The status bar yet again shows the total size of your selection, and -- praise be! -- the diabolical Windows 7 Copy File 'copy and replace?' dialog has been replaced with a Windows XP lookalike (image after the break). New to the most recent version of Classic Shell is the ability to make IE9 look like IE8. With Classic Shell the title bar yet again has a caption, so you can see the full title of Web pages. The current security zone and loading progress indicator have been put back into the status bar, too. If you enable 'Show tabs on a separate row,' it's almost like using IE8. Finally, Classic Shell replaces the omnipotent Windows 7 Start Menu with the age-old 'classic' Windows 2000/XP-style Start Menu. Classic Shell makes the Start Menu skinable, too, if you're into the kind of thing. As awesome as it sounds, we've only touched on a small section of Classic Shell's feature set. Check the Classic Shell site for a complete list. There's a few more images of Classic Shell in action after the break. Curran attempted to go strike for strike with Eduardo through all three rounds of the fight, but couldn't get the range figured out until the final frame. That left him open to leg kick after leg kick from Eduardo in the first two rounds, damaging his lead leg and rendering his attempts at offense ineffective. "Big Frog" did come back strong in the third, but it was too little too late after dropping the first two frames. He's now winless in his last six fights under the Zuffa banner, and is 0-3 in the Octagon. Eduardo now has his first win in the UFC after losing his UFC debut last August by decision against Raphael Assuncao. Jabouin's speed and striking advantage were at play throughout the fight, and it was nearly over in the first round when he dropped Hougland with a spinning back kick to the gut. The referee looked about to step in, but backed off at the last second. Jabouin landed some ground and pound but Hougland regained his bearings. The same thing happened in the third round when Jabouin dropped Hougland again. Hougland ultimately recovered, and survived to the end of the fight, but it was a completely one-sided fight. The win was Jabouin's third straight since a loss in his UFC debut. For Hougland, this loss snapped a nine-fight winning streak dating back almost nine years.
